Ms. Chi Yaan, born and raised in Malaysia, is a certified Russian Ballet Association (RBA) under the guidance of Mr. Vladimir Issaev. She was awarded a full scholarship by the Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida to complete her teaching diploma in the United States. She is also a certified Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) instructor.
Ms. Chi Yaan has participated in various competitions, awarded with medals, and has performed in many productions. Notable performances include her role as the principal dancer in Asia Ballet Theatre’s MixBill production in 2021, second soloist roles in The Fairy Doll (2019), Don Quixote (2019), and The Nutcracker (2020). She also performed as a guest dancer at the XV International Young Dancers Festival in Odense, Denmark.
In the 2022–2023 season, she danced with the Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida, performing in productions such as Shostakovich Suites, Nebrada’s Pentimento, and The Nutcracker. Upon her return to Malaysia, Ms. Chi Yaan expanded her repertoire by performing in various contemporary dance productions with the Kenny Shim Dance Collective and ballet productions with Asia Ballet Theatre.
Currently, she serves as the Senior Ballet Teacher and Associate Managing Director of Asia Ballet Academy. Her dedication to teaching has earned her several Outstanding Teacher Awards from ballet competitions across the region.
